Directions

Picture
Always shake contents. Apply as a drench, foliar spray or fog. Application after rain allows deeper penetration. Render a liberal soak. Begin with the sides of your structures―working from the building outward to include concrete areas, flower beds, shrubbery, trees, garden, grass and standing water.

For outdoor events such as picnics, a back yard BBQ, family outings, outdoor weddings [wedding planners take note], and outdoor parties; Treat the area to be used [and the outdoor structures] with a hose-end sprayer about 2 hours before the event; or with a non-thermal ULV fogger 1-2 hours before the event for a bug free experience. Maintain a 150 foot event-area perimeter, if possible.

Yard Shield may be applied as a drench, foliar spray or fog. Shake contents before use. For best results, dilute with warm water and apply at morning or early evening. It is best to avoid application in heat and direct sunlight. Note that Yard Shield may cause slight phyto-toxic burn to plant life if applied in direct sunlight or at temperatures above 90˚F (32˚C). The first application is the most important. Render a liberal soak to all areas. Outdoor maintenance treatments may be followed up every 15 to 30 days during the bug season.

Mixing Instructions―Hose End Sprayer
Area Coverage: Using Hose End Sprayer w/20 Gallon Capacity ― 160 Gallons of spray mix per QT of Yard Shield―Covers 4,000-5,000 sq ft [hose end sprayers are used when soil penetration is important].

Shake Yard Shield concentrate before pouring into your hose-end sprayer. For Yards and Gardens―Fill the cup of your 20 Gallon capacity hose-end sprayer with Yard Shield to the 8 oz level for the initial soaking―4 oz thereafter. Fill the rest of the cup with warm or hot water to the 26 oz fill line. Attach to the water hose, turn the lever to “on” and initiate spraying. Each cup of solution will dilute 20 gallons of water spray. Repeat steps as often as necessary to complete the initial soaking. This treatment will resolve many insect issues such as aphids and scale on plants, powdery mildew and many of the normal lawn fungal problems grassy areas experience. Note: 1 QT of Yard Shield = 160 gallons of solution delivered by hose-end sprayer, using a 4 oz fill measure. For larger areas, recommended outside use (except irrigation and some Agricultural use) is 640:1 (one gallon Yard Shield per 640 gallons of water). This 640:1 ratio is equal to 4 oz Yard Shield per 20 gallons of water processed through a hose-end sprayer (as referenced above). Irrigation agendas may utilize higher dilution ratios of 4000:1 to 8000:1.

Mixing Instructions―Non-Thermal ULV Fogger
Area Coverage: ULV Non-Thermal Fogger ― 1 QT of Yard Shield concentrate covers 16,000-26,000 sq ft, depending on saturation desired. [1 QT of Yard Shield makes 16 gallons of spray mix @ 1000-1600 sq ft per gallon of mix].

Consider the density and height of bushes, shrubs and trees. Mix 2 oz of Yard Shield concentrate per gallon of water and pour into ULV fogger reservoir. Use the fogger’s lightest setting for maximum coverage. Remove livestock from barns and stables prior to fogging. ULV non-thermal foggers offer the added advantage of mortality to airborne pests.

Mixing Instructions―2QT Tank Sprayer or Standard Trigger Sprayer
Area Coverage: Using 2QT Compression Sprayer ― 16,000 sq ft per QT of Yard Shield. [1 QT Yard Shield makes 16 gallons of spray mix @ approximately 1000 sq ft of coverage per gallon of mix].

Shake Yard Shield concentrate before pouring into your trigger sprayer or tank sprayer. Recommended inside use is 60:1 (2 oz concentrate per gallon of water). For patios and indoor/outdoor house plants―Use 1oz of Yard Shield per QT of water [initial soak]. Decrease to ½ oz per QT of water for follow up applications. For roots and tender leaf plants, use 2 oz Yard Shield per gallon and pour directly into soil for subterranean pests. Mix with warm tap water for best results. Repeat treatment as required, depending on insect population and time of year.
